About
Kat M. Garcés is a Colombian-American mixed-media collage artist and graphic designer based in South Florida. Her collages, driven by her personal experiences, utilize cutouts from magazines and vintage books to explore themes of identity and life’s journey. Drawing inspiration from pop art and surrealism, Kat’s work hopes to spark conversations about identity, belonging, and societal norms that impact our shared human journey.
Kat studied at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, where she earned an Associate of Science degree in Graphic Design and won the award for best portfolio. She has extensive experience in graphic design, having worked for various brands and currently contributing her expertise in the public sector. Kat has shown her work in group exhibitions, including the Art and Stroll Virtual Event held by Business for the Arts of Broward and the Sea of Art at Regatta Grove in Miami, FL, presented by Twenty6North Productions.
